Hairstyles For Plus Size Women

Which hairstyle is best for plus size women? Believe it or not, many plus size women ask this question. Are things really that different when it comes to hairstyles for plus size women? Well, yes and no.

Let’s first take a look at what is common for hairstyle selection between plus size women and women in general.

A hairstyle should complement the shape of your face. Though everyone’s face is basically oval, there are many deviations to the dimensions of the face that make it tend away from a purely oval shape. Below are the basic facial shapes and hairstyles that complement them.

Pear -- this facial shape has a wide chin and a narrow forehead. A hairstyle that widens the forehead while taking attention away from the chin is desirable. Hair should be fuller on top and swept away from the face to create the illusion of a fuller forehead. Avoid styles that are wider at the chin to soften a square jaw line.

Square -- a square brow and angular jaw line are the features of the square facial shape. Hair swept onto the face and covering the brow will soften sharp angles. Shorter lengths that extend just below the chin will further help to soften a square jaw.

Oval -- like the hourglass plus size body shape, an oval face works well with just about any style. Hair pulled back or worn up shows off an oval face the most. Long styles or shorter hair with some curls will also look flattering on an oval face.

Round -- the widest part of a round face is at the cheeks. Your goal should be to lengthen both the upper and lower portions of your face. Build some height on the top of your head while avoiding shorter, slicked back styles.

Heart Shaped –- this is a triangular facial shape, wider at the forehead with a narrow chin. Wear styles that widen your chin such as layered styles angled toward your face. Shorter lengths to the middle of your neck work best.

Plus size women with long hair look particularly elegant with their hair pinned up. This works extremely well for formal occasions when wearing a gown or evening dress. In general, shorter plus size women may want to consider shorter hairstyles to balance their torsos against their legs. A silk scarf or headband tied across the forehead and under the back of the hair can add an accent point to plus size hairstyles.

Buying Maternity Clothing Online

Obviously buying clothes while you’re pregnant can be a bit annoying when what you bought last week already doesn’t fit you. When your body is changing from day to day it becomes so important that the clothes you are buying are affordable. Well no need to worry as there are many stores out there that are more than affordable, and what’s more there’s some great stores offering the latest trends and styles so you can still feel your fashionable self.

The key to a good shopping spree is to buy a few transitional pieces that will work as well in the tail end of the summer months as they will into winter. One of the best garments for this is the wrap-over dress. It can be worn as a dress with heels, casual with jeans underneath, or with a winter coat and trousers. It’s the perfect shape for that growing bump and will last you a lot longer than other shapes of clothes.

Another version of this is the jumper dress which is big this season; again it can be worn in many ways and is extremely comfortable and flattering. Dungarees are also coming into fashion which to be fair are a pretty good option during pregnancy.

Jeans are always a must have, and this shouldn’t change during your pregnancy. The great thing about denim is that it’s hard wearing, fashionable, and they will always return to their shape wash after wash. Skinny jeans are the fashion this season and while they might not be the obvious choice during your pregnancy, slim or straight legged jeans will give the same effect and come in many more versatile shapes. Wearing slim legged jeans looks great with flats or pumps, or dressed up with strappy sandals or boots.

Knitwear is set to make a big comeback this season with big chunky cardigans and fine knit jumpers. Oversized jumpers are a great option for your growing bump and the good news is the stores are full of them. Layering camisoles and knitwear looks great and is perfect for the warm and cold weather we keep experiencing. By a lot of the knitwear being so lightweight, it’s easy to just pop in your bag too.

Something To Go Along

Having something to go with the dresses a person wear is no longer just a trend but it is now a necessary style icon habitual for people. Whether it is a man getting dressed or a lady adorning herself, with these accessories gives people a sense of triumph and self confidence. The positive aspect of this trend of using these things is that they can work as a cover. Incase a person is wearing a totally simple dress, the beholder's glance is withdrawn from what that person is wearing and direct it towards a person's entire body. That is handsomely and richly adorned with a variety of material. They serve a noble purpose by being auxiliary.

These adjuvant ornaments refer to hats, gloves, boots, ponchos, scarves, jewelry and fur etc. They can no longer be separated from clothing. The choice and decision, however, depends upon individuals and varies from country to country. The general concept remains unaffected, the same urge and desire of beauty unmoved throughout the world.

Europeans and western clothing comprise of pants, jeans, skirts, mini dresses, shorts and so on. Along with such dresses ornamental styles include boots. Boot variety is vast; there are long boots, knee length boots, metallic lined boots, leather boots and boots in all colors. Even cowboy boots are back in fashion in exotic styles and designs. Handbags are other necessary items that women can't do without anymore. One huge hand bag that provided enough space for a lady to fill it with her needy items is simply an intolerable concept now. The women now require small, funky, and eye catching hand bags and purses that must match with their dress. For this purpose traditional hand bags with intricate designs are available in all shopping malls. Leather bags, bags made out of rough fabric dyed in attractive colors and not to mention the hangings especially made for hand bags make it even more provoking for people to buy more and more.

Belts and chains are rather becoming .Their use is more pertinent to youngsters used over jeans, skirts and long dresses. For older women or the male sex plain leather and clothed belts serve a decent style. Cufflinks and fancy watches do a great deal of a decorative job. Old ladies like covering their heads with scarves instead of hats. Like these there are numerous items people use every day ordinarily used for clothing seems incomplete with their use.

Leather Care & Cleaning Tips

Leather is a beautiful product, whether for clothes, shoes or accessories. It is sturdy and durable as well, but great care must be taken in order to maintain its sheen and impressive appearance.

One of the most critical areas of leather is cleaning it. Using the wrong type of cleaning material can absolutely ruin that leather jacket. For example, never use solvents or abrasives, not even saddle soap or household soaps or cleansers. They may effectively clean the material but some of them are just incompatible with today's water-based leather finishes. They may cause severe damage to the leather such as cracking. Like skin, leather also suffers when it comes in direct exposure to sunlight or other heat sources.

Leather care experts recommend gently dusting leather surfaces weekly to remove all traces of dirt and soil. It is recommended that you apply a leather conditioner or a leather protector at least once a year.

If someone has spilled a drink on your leather pants, immediately blot out the wet spots with a soft absorbent cloth. You can remove residual stains by soaking the cloth in a solution of water and a mild, non-detergent soap. Dab at it gently because rubbing vigorously can remove the leather's color or leave uneven marks. It is important to let the leather air and dry after cleaning.

For ink stains, the best results can be achieved by working to remove the stain early. It is important to have some type of ink or stain remover on hand, followed by a leather cleaning product. And don't forget to dab gently.

It takes an entirely different approach if you're trying to remove bubble gum. The trick is to gently heat the gum with a hair dryer until it dries. Take a clean white cloth and rub the gum from the leather surface into the cloth. If there are residual marks, quickly apply grease on them

How To Choose Boating Shoes That Are Functional As Well As Fashionable

Deck shoes or topsiders, whatever you call them, boating shoes have become both a popular and efficient fashion statement for on and off of a boat. The history of the boat shoe design can be traced back to the Native Americans, who wore footwear called moccasins, which is much similar to a deck shoe. Boat shoes possess some of the same characteristics as moccasins. They both are made from a kind of leather that is resistant to water and possess a low profile. This design has now transformed into the shoes we see boaters wearing when they take to the water.

Sometimes the deck of a boat becomes wet and passengers need something to keep them from slipping. This is the intended purpose and design of a boat shoe. The top part of the shoe is constructed from treated leather, which contains oils that deflect the absorption of water. The bottom of the shoe is made from a kind of rubber that does not allow slippage. The ease of slipping in and out of the shoe is provided through the low profile, which is quite similar to a comfortable slipper.

It didn't take too long before boat shoes became a popular trend, catching on to varying individuals. The fashion statement has extended beyond the boating scene and was embraced as an addition to casual, as well as dressy wear. Because of the association with boating, some shoes give an outfit a sporty look, where some styles have been known to dress up a wardrobe.

Although it is quite popular to wear boat shoes in bare feet, there are many people who prefer to wear socks with their shoes. This sometimes detracts from the stylish appearance of the shoes by drawing more attention to the socks than the shoe. Numerous boat shoe wearers will insert sock pads to increase the comfort of going barefoot. This allows them to feel the padding, as well as show off their stylish footwear.

With every article of clothing or accessory, stylists have a set of guidelines that they often refer to. In actuality, you can wear anything you want when you want. A few words of fashion wisdom include wearing boat shoes to accentuate sporty outfits. For men, khaki shorts, golf shoes and polo shirts are just some of the things to consider when pairing boat shoes with an outfit. As a rule of thumb, boat shoes don't look too hot during the winter season.

The shoes are created to reflect a certain level of strength. After all, they are made for the rough and rugged activities that occur aboard a wet ship deck. Maintenance is still required. For longer lasting shoes, oil the leather on a regular basis. This will keep your shoes withstanding water infiltration. From time to time, disinfect your insoles by spraying on a shoe cleaner. When soles start to show heavy use, immediately repair visible wear and tear.

When considering a purchase, look for a shoe that features a solid sole. This will offer good slippage protection, which is good on and off of a boat. Just like with every pair of shoes you buy, make sure they provide a comfortable fit. This means trying on potential purchases before buying. Also, keep in mind that often a slightly higher cost means better quality. Try looking for a name brand. Overall, higher quality shoes tend to last longer and provide a better shoe experience.

Large Size Man Shoes: Can You Walk the Walk

There are several important things to be mindful of when purchasing large size man shoes. A carefully chosen pair of shoes for plus size men can definitely boost the ego of the person wearing it. If shoe experts can impart one important advice, it is that the human feet are smaller in cool temperatures than in the heat. Shoppers should keep this in mind when buying shoes in the air-conditioned mall. Men's shoes are basically the same cut but the width of the feet at the base of the big and the little toe vary as well as the ball area. It would be wise to purchase a pair that is one to two sizes larger to prevent injury to the feet. Always try shoes on wearing the type of socks intended to be worn with it.

Large size man shoes must be able to keep the feet dry at all times. Most shoes now come with a Gortex lining to waterproof the feet. If you think your feet will get wet, like when crossing a stream, take the shoes off and dry the feet before putting them back on. Shoes that get wet will dry faster when stuffed with a cloth or newspaper. Shoes should be able to provide comfort and protect the feet from all sorts of sharp objects that could wound the feet. They should also be able to provide support, traction and more importantly, comfort.

When you anticipate a long walk, always consider the shoes you will be wearing and the terrain of the path you will take. It is best to bring along another pair to have something to change to depending on the walking condition. Look for well built, solid shoes with protective under sole and a thick and durable outer sole. There are detachable insoles that are available in most shoe stores, pick one that is highly absorbent. A good insole absorbs over 50 percent of the shock from the foot. Hard surfaces pound on the foot sending shocks all the way to the ankles and causing all sorts of foot injuries. A trip to the podiatrist or the foot doctor does not come cheap when Band Aids cannot do the job.

The price ranges of large size man shoes vary but the most expensive is usually the best. There are over 20 bones in the feet and all are connected by tissue ligaments and muscle and shoe manufacturers consider these details and more. Larger men should always bear in mind that a bad fit can ruin a good shoe and can cause injuries.

This Autumn's Footwear Fashion; Platforms and Booties!

Sarah Jessica Parker famously made Manolo Blahnik a household name in Sex and the City. However, long before the erstwhile Carrie Bradshaw and her girlfriends made the legendary shoe designer a figure of mass consumption, "Manolo's" were already an essential item in the celebrity world and amongst the fashion elite. But today, as more and more people demand their goods, how can the Manolos, Jimmy Choos and Vivienne Westwoods of the world still get away with charging women thousands of pounds for their shoes? The simple explanation - women love shoes - may seem an overused stereotype but it is, sadly or not, very true.

Take one of the leading shoe trends for Autumn 2006: the platform. Chunky heels are once again all the rage, but they owe more to 1980s decadence than to the Swinging Sixties. The recent return to the skinny jeans and leggings of the Bananarama age has prompted a comeback for the heavy platform and the stacked heel. But don’t get carried away with images of Olivia Newton John trying desperately to extinguish her cigarette with her killer heel at the end of Grease - stacked platforms may also be worn with a bell-shaped dress or skirt, so there's hope yet.

Also on the footwear catwalk this Fall are ankle length "booties". Once again hailing back to the 1980s, booties vary slightly in length, from below the ankle to just above the ankle. Often available with side-zips and buttons, the bootie will also be worn with leggings this season, as well as skirts, jeans or slim trousers. Though many designs are available, the most popular has so far proved to be Steve Madden's black suede model with a brown wooden heel.

Animal print footwear has also been gracing the catwalks and fashion magazines with its presence this season. Bring out the Cruella De Vil in you (animal-friendly, of course) by donning stylish zebra, leopard or Dalmatian-print platforms, worn with black tights and a pencil skirt. Top fashion gurus have even okayed the right to mix animal patterns together by assembling them with plainer accessories, so fashion slaves may feel free to go completely wild.

The prevalence of patent leather once again harks back to that vampish, 1980s feel; worn with a belted sweater and a skirt, patent leather boots can bestow a classy day-to-evening appearance, and if layered with a polo neck, will provide a more mod-ish look. Last but not least, the Autumn season would amount to nothing if it did not include the high boot. Though booties may currently be stealing the limelight, high boots will always provide a sophisticated air that few other items of footwear are capable of; wear with a patterned coat, or a mini skirt and a cropped jacket to achieve maximum effect.
