What Women Should Look for in Plus Size Jackets

When the cold seasons set in, certain wardrobe essentials for larger women are necessary and plus size jackets are one of them. For the working woman, a good long coat is essential. Wool is best because it insulates heat during those winter mornings. Larger women should have a basic, solid color of coat to complement the predominant colors in the wardrobe. The coat should be long enough to match the length of the longest skirt in the wardrobe and large enough to accommodate a blazer or sweater worn under it. There should be a minimum of two coats in a woman's wardrobe, one for wearing at work and another for special occasions. One can also add a fake fur jacket for casual engagements. For milder cold weather regions, a trench coat for the rainy season should be enough. Stick to neutral colors like black, gray, navy and camel for both plus size wool and fur coat.

For office wear plus size jackets, blazers are the perfect choice . They can be paired with coordinating pants or a nice skirt to project a professional aura while allowing for versatility. A basic wool blazer is a sound choice plus it also works with jeans to achieve a casual look. Heavy-set women should choose long jackets extending below the hip. Short jackets tend to cut the body in half, which is not very flattering to the figure. Loud plaids and prints must be avoided, instead invest in muted plaids and solid prints.

Meanwhile, cardigans and sweaters are an absolute must-have for business wear. For plus size women, it is wise to choose a soft blended knit ensemble and ensure that both pieces fit comfortably. The sweater set is perfect with cropped pants or a skirt. It offers warmth as well as style. Beaded and metallic sets, on the other hand, are ideal for evenings out.

A good jacket must always come with a matching pair of boots. In today's fashion scene, every woman should have at least a pair. High boots go well with long skirts or with a pair of wool cropped pants. Boots should fit comfortably around the calves so always try them on before buying a pair. Some designs come with an elastic insert on the side which is great for women with larger legs.

There is absolutely no reason for larger women to keep wearing bulky sweat shirts to protect them against the cold climate. Plus size jackets can be acquired in every fashion outlet and department store nowadays and most of them are designed not just to look fashionable, but also to provide comfort to women of bigger size.

Fall Fashion 2006: Taking the Guess Out of Getting Gorgeous!

Hello fellow fashionistas,

*Sigh*, fall… when all the thick September issues of fashion magazines come out, when all the designers show their latest and greatest, and when the stores get in all the new lines and accessories…in other words it’s the time of year when I’m broke!

Collections this year ranged from the frivolous to the fabulous, with many key pieces that can enhance anyone’s personal style. It has been a particularly good year for fashion with lots of old favorites like wedges, flats and gold metallic sandals being brought new life by great pieces such as skinny jeans, wide trousers, and the mini.

That’s one of the problems this year- there are soooo many great trends that its hard to figure out what to wear and what to pair it with. That’s why I hit the books (well the magazines and websites) and came up with the top five shoe trends this fall, and I even give you ideas of what you can wear with them (now isn’t that nice of me!)

I took the guess out of getting gorgeous…

Platforms

Sexy. Edgy. Glamorous. Platforms are the biggest look of the season (and they just so happen to be my favorite!). Best thing is that there are so many great styles that you can wear them with almost any of this fall’s trends.

For the office try a loafer platform, even though they are a high heel, you should still be able to find a comfortable pair of these shoes because they generally have a thicker heel (easier walking), and a closed toe (so you can easily hide a nice thick insole). For a sleek professional look, try pairing them with a wide leg trouser with matching jacket, or a tweed suit with a pencil skirt and a tie neck blouse.

Take a walk on the wild side- crocodile print is back! One of my all time favorites, crocodile print can be a seriously sexy look, especially when paired with a high heel, and a peek-toe! Beware, these shoes aren’t for the tame at heart, they hint of the wild woman inside all of us, and should be worn accordingly. Try these with a pencil skirt for a glamorous Marilyn Monroe type look, or take it on the town with sexy sweater dress!

Finally, embody a look full of a classic elegance long forgotten. A black suede platform and a women’s tuxedo would compliment each other perfectly. Although considered to be quite masculine, somehow this look is totally feminine. This combination brings back old Hollywood glamour epitomized by stars like Marlene Dietrich and Carole Lombard. Now, you can try being comfortable and sexy too!

Flats

These cute little shoes pack a big punch in style and flair. Popularized by stars like Audrey Hepburn, these shoes have a lot of appeal.. They may not be as innocent looking these days, but they are an easy on the go comfortable way of adding that perfect finishing touch to your outfit. Another exciting aspect is that they can help the feet look smaller (a big plus for me!)

You want to look for a suede, or a patent leather flat that has accents such as buckles, or small bows, preferably in a bright color like red, or a leopard print.

Any of these styles would look great with a pair of skinny jeans or stove pipe pants (skinny pants). Try some purple flats with a gray shirt or sweater dress, a tie neck blouse, and some black leggings. Want a more casual look? Go for red flats, with some black stove pipe pants a textured sweater and pea coat. Also a pair of leopard print flats would dress up a black mini skirt with black leggings.

These shoes are very versatile, you can try them with almost anything. Whatever feels comfortable to you is what will look best!

Mary Janes

Although this shoe usually brings to mind cute little schoolgirls with their plaid uniforms and berets, this season’s shoes are much more naughty schoolgirl than nice. Yes, the mary jane has been redefined! It’s now a sexy shoe that’s paired with great new styles that have no resemblance whatsoever to your childhood uniform.

For a romantic look, try some rust color mary-janes with a pair of cream color wide trouser pants and a Victorian blouse with puffy sleeves. A gray tweed suit with a hint of green or teal in the design would be complimented perfectly by a pair of dark teal wedge mary-janes. Also try a pair of black wedges with some black tights, a textured sweater and a mini skirt.

Jewel Tone Sandals and Pumps

Sapphire, ruby, and emerald oh my! Okay, so this years color trends dictate that during the day you want to stick to black, charcoal and other grays, navy, creams, and some white, red, and maybe a little green, but at night you can go glam with jewel tones! I have to admit, as slimming as black is, I love bright rich colors too! At night wear these with a jewel tone dress, either full length for a formal affair, or try a bell skirt dress for a semi-formal look, and always pair with a clutch!

Boots

I lopped these under one heading because you’re likely not going to need to wear them for at least another six weeks. As we get ever closer to the white fluffy stuff, you want to make sure to keep an eye out for good deals and new styles (which there will be a ton of coming out soon)

How Bustiers Slim And Enhance Your Figure

The corset is beautiful garment, which is worn to mould the shape of the torso and enhance the chest, giving a beautiful shape to the body and has traditionally worn by all women. It does not have straps and can be worn as lingerie as well as party wear. A corset helps reduce the fat on the stomach and makes a person look very slim. Whereas a "bustier", is a tight fitting garment, which was traditionally worn as lingerie, by women. Bustiers do not have straps on the shoulder, similar to corsets. One has to attach the bustier to their back with strings. A bustier is similar to buying a bra; you have to choose the right cup size for it to fit perfectly.

Bustiers are an excellent replacement of strapless bras as they provide very good support to the bust, so that women don’t feel conscious. The bustier fits so perfectly that it supports the chest as well as the stomach. While strapless bras only support the bust, making us feel very uncomfortable. Bustiers can be worn with strapless outfits without any hesitation as you can be sure that you will be very comfortable.

There are a variety of bustiers you can choose from these days. Most of them have ribbons, lace or strings at the back of the lingerie, but now days you have the choice of the lace or strings in front, so that you can adjust as per your liking. There are so many different shapes, sizes, colors, materials and designs of bustiers available today. These days a fashionable bustier can be worn as a separate outfit as well. These bustiers have very think cloth at the cups for perfect support.

Before you buy a bustier you should be clear as to what you want. As mentioned earlier bustiers are available as lingerie, fashion apparel, sexy clothing, and so on. For instance, if you want to buy sexy lingerie you have a choice of lace, ribbons, thin material and so on, whereas, if you want to wear a bustier to a party, you have sturdy fashionable ones to choose from. So you need to first decide which occasion you want to wear your bustier to.

Bustiers are available in many kinds of material. For example, you can get a comfortable bustier in cotton or synthetic fabric, which will be perfect to wear under a strapless dress. Light material helps our skin to breathe. They can be very easily cleaned, without any restrictions. Many bustiers have elastic, which is very convenient. With elastic bustiers we don’t have to worry, whether the strap or ribbon will open. It is extremely convenient and comfortable. You should be very careful while maintaining and cleaning your bustiers as they require a lot of care. Bustiers now are a must in a woman's wardrobe.

Maladies of High Heels

More ramp shows, extra hard works and latest fashion trend sometimes hurt the models. Some says fashion is pain. And with women's high heels hitting dizzying heights, it is something the fashion world is going to find out all about.

The craze has already hit UK, with some heels reportedly as high as 13 cm. And the trend is expanding to Australia, Hong Kong and now India, witnessing the use of high heels by models. The trends for very high heels and high platforms are selling well in the fashion market too. Winter trends are showing platforms as one of the biggest trends too.

However, the fashion trend is likely to increase the risk of foot and ankle injury and pain. The tendons as well as the toes will claws up. The calves may look fantastic, but the feet are going to look like a 90-year-old's. Getting treatment for the heel pain treatment is something one should look into if suffering from chronic pain.

High heels with open toes may look very sexy, but can be a nightmare for the toes. When standing up and walking, the toes can sometimes be pushed through the opening, even through small peekaboo openings. When one walks, the toes normally spread out. Such natural action may compel the toes to stretch the opening bigger. While doing so, the toes can easily get bruised.

Non-pointed toes cause fewer problems for the toes too. They are better, when one plans to wear high heels for more than four hours. Furthermore, larger non-pointed toe boxes can enable a model to wear high heels for long periods of time, even for several days without ever taking off the shoes.

There are many causes of heel pain. The pain itself is identified into two groups, pain beneath the heel and pain behind the heel. The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. This is an inflammation of the fascia ligaments in the foot. This ligament attaches the heel to the back of the foot. When this ligament is stretched irregularly, it develops small tears which cause inflammation and pain in the heel. Plantar fascitis arises when there is no arch support in the shoe, having flat feet, a sudden foot injury or excessive pressure on feet, normally happens in modelling and fashion industry.

Another cause of heel pain can be from the formation of a heel spur. A heel spur is a hook of bone that develops beneath the heel. Heel spurs manifest themselves as an abnormal growth that forms when the plantar fascia pulls away from the heel. Female models have a significantly higher incidence of heel spurs due to certain types of footwear that are worn on a regular basis.

The proper treatment of plantar fasciitis is determining what is causing the excessive stretching of the plantar fascia. Common treatments include stretching exercises, wearing cushioned heel shoes to absorb shock, and elevating the heel with the use of a heel cradle or heel cup. Heel cradles and heel cups reduces the amount of shock and shear forces placed during ramp walk or those elegant cat walks. Avoid walking on hard or uneven ground, lose any excess weight, and wear shoes that support the arch to prevent over-stretching of the plantar fascia.

Plus Size Clothing: Maternity Clothes For Plus Sizes

When you are a pregnant woman who needs plus size maternity clothes, buying an outfit can be difficult. You can often find maternity clothes large enough at your local maternity store, but you may find as you get further along in your pregnancy that things stop fitting as well. There are several things you can do.

First, you may want to consider looking online. When you search for maternity clothing, be sure to also search for plus sizes at the same time. This should allow you to bring up sites that sell maternity clothing for curvy women. After all, if you are curvy when you get pregnant, you are going to be curvy throughout the pregnancy. You are likely to find the biggest selection online, so go ahead and take the time to look.

Maternity clothes are typically sized as you would normally wear them. For instance, if you are normally a 22W, the maternity clothes you need will be sized 22W as well, even though you are growing. They should fit as long as you go by your typical size. Now, if you have gained an incredible amount of weight, they may not fit. But overall, they should be fine and you might even have room to grow some in them.

Remember that since you are only going to be using your maternity clothes for a short period of time in your life, you may want to limit what you purchase. Buy pieces that work together. Also keep in mind that if you can find things that can go from the office to home, without effort, you will save yourself money in the long run.

Finding Stylish Plus Sized Jeans

One of the most universal pieces of clothing are jeans. When you are plus sized, it can be hard to find jeans that are both stylish and comfortable. Most jeans either are too tight in the leg area or cut into the tummy area. However, there are plus size clothing companies out there that make great jeans. You just have to look for them!

The first thing you should always look for in your jeans is "stretch". Many pairs of jeans will say they are made of stretch material, which means the material will give a little. You may not really think they give much, but they will stretch out more as you wear them. You may even have to give them a few hours before they get really comfortable. Going with stretch jeans will make you feel more comfortable throughout the day.

The next thing you should look for is mid rise qualities. Many jeans these days are being made as low rise jeans. This is a great look if you have no curves at all. But, plus size clothing should not be low rise. Mid rise is much more appealing and attractive. It will help you stay stylish while also allowing you to stay covered and comfortable.

When you do find the perfect pair of jeans, it is always worth it to buy an extra pair. After all, what are the chances you will run across the same pair of perfect jeans again? So, look for the stretch fabric and mid rise quality when you are shopping for plus size clothing and jeans. You will be a lot happier when you look and feel great!
