Dual Watch Winders

Certain types of automatic watches contain a self-winding mechanism that automatically winds these watches when they are strapped on the wrist of the user. The mechanism contains tiny weights that move in clockwise and anticlockwise direction due to the user's arm movement. The mechanism keeps functioning in the same way until the watch is completely wound up.

Mechanical devices such as dual watch winders are designed to mimic the action of human arm movement to wind self-winding watches when they are not worn. Dual watch winders are designed to accommodate two watches in a single watch-winding device, which allows users to save costs related to buying two different single watch winder devices.

These types of winders contain small electrical motors for providing angular and circular motion which is used by the self winding mechanism to convert kinetic energy into micro electrical energy required to keep the watch running. The circular motion of watch winders also helps in even distribution of lubricating oil present inside self-winding watches. Watch-winders are available in different shapes and are made form different materials such as wood, metal, and other synthetic material such as plastic and carbon fiber. The inside of these winders is covered with a layer of cushioning material to prevent scratches that may occur on the watch due to the circular motion. It also contains a grasping mechanism that firmly secures the watch inside the winding device.

The cost of commonly used watch winders ranges from hundred to three hundred dollars. This variation in prices is due to different additional features installed in different brands of watch winders and also due to the final finishing of internal and external surfaces. High-end dual watch winders are also available and are generally priced beyond one thousand dollars.

Dual watch winders are targeted at users who own more than one self-winding watches. They are also used as gift items during weddings and Christmas celebrations.
