As Fall / Winter 2006 approaches, prints are back in vogue. Animal prints are the rage again. They may skip a year or two, but animal prints in some form or another will always be back. The hottest prints to go for are the tiger prints, leopard and zebra prints. This season, wear them with monotones. Wear one animal print piece with black, dark denim or neutral separates. Pair the gorgeous animal print dresses with opaque tights.
Some gorgeous must haves in animal prints include that silk georgette dress in animal prints, a gorgeous furry vest and that little black dress with a safari inspired print trim. If you rather test the waters, go for the animal print pumps or bags to get into the coming season's mood.
The other prints to look at would be the florals. Teri Hatcher and Halle Berry looked stunning in large floral prints that we might associate with an house proud aunt's living room wallpaper. Yet these prints bring our their feminity. Just make sure you're not standing against a wall covered in a wall paper that matches your outfit.
One thing you see this season which has been missing for the several years is the bubble skirt, or rather, the bubble dress. This is a tough look to carry off. If you can, then wear it. It is a feminine look that stands out from the crowd. Rachel Bilson and Brittany Murphy were photographed wearing these divine dresses. Wear it with a great posture and tons of confidence.
Another interesting piece that updates your wardrobe instantly is the capelet. This trendy cover up keeps you warm in a whimsical way, like the heroines from the past. An Edwardian look that is given a modern touch.
As for colors, the gothic look is hot. Stark black and white with ornate accessories bring you up to date. These versatile pieces are classic. Black clothes never go out of fashion. They can be worn in so many ways, so stock up on little black dresses, black skirts and jackets.
In line with the party season, metallics are back. Lame dresses are hot. Go for gold if you have warm skin tones. If you have olive skin or cool skin tones, dress in silver. Get ready to dazzle in the parties scheduled in the coming months.
Since winter is coming, boots are back. Knee high boots are a classy winter essential that's both practical and gorgeous.
For a change, show off your back. Cowl back dresses are hot. As are dresses that are covered up in front but plunge unexpectedly at the back. They can be worn both ways. The catwalk may show a dress baring the back, but you could follow Eva Longoria's lead and show off your cleavage instead. She took a Missoni silk mini dress with a plunging back and wore it the other way round, showing off her cleavage. The result would grab the attention of any red-blooded male.
