Are you a Teaser or Provoker? Your Sexy Halloween Costume can Reveal that!

Strangely, despite the scary (but correct) notions of Halloween parties, which are invariably designed to be spooky and scare people out of their wits, there is a surge in demand for sexy costumes during the Halloween costume shopping season. Looking scary and looking sexy at the same time might seem paradoxical; yet, this truth continues to stare us in the face each year. Of course, I doubt if sellers of these sexy Halloween costumes are complaining (at least we are not), but it certainly opens up a topic for some thought and discussion.

Just as beauty is a very subjective attribute, sexiness is also very subjective. What appeals to one person may or may not appeal to another person. Yet, even with this sort of uniqueness that defines sexuality, there is a certain universality about what is likely to catch the attention of a major proportion of people. In fact, when you scour through hundreds of sexy costumes, one can still instinctively get a feel of what will catch somebody’s eye.

The primary prerequisite of a sexy costume is that it has to connect to some innate feeling (or fantasy). Once that connection is established, heads turn and eyes roll. It’s almost like they send out some invisible waves that turn on an onlooker’s sensibilities. Costumes that manage to do this invariably turn out to be the best sellers.

Sexy costumes- the teasers and the provokers
I believe sexy costumes can be very broadly classified into two types—the teasers and the provokers. Both have their own charm and works well with completely different kinds of personalities.

Often sexiness comes out of being bold, daring and almost outrageous, which appeal to some people’s sensibilities. There are costumes that display that kind daring and stamp their own statement. They are provocative and almost scream out: dare to get me?

On the other hand, there is the entirely different range that relies more on subtleties. These costumes seed inquisitiveness and feed imagination. They are the seductive variety, designed to tease and tantalize, kind of leading one on and stretching and prolonging the fun.
